unredeemed

Life is a funny thing isn't it. It has a way of bringing the highest and greatest joys alongside with the worst and deepest grief.

Sometimes a joyful news of new life can be met alongside with sad news of lives lost. Success in life can be met with broken relationships. Dreams achieved met with loss of hope.

Even from the very beginning of life, the pain of childbirth brings about the joy of the birth. And the sad news of death is met with the joy of new eternal life but grief of the people left behind.

I've been seeing these extreme paradoxes lately and sometimes it's difficult to make sense of it all. Why would God allow such paradoxes? Why can He just let us be happy, everything to be alright and smooth sailing.

I am reminded again that while we live in this temporary life, we live in the shadow of the fall. This world is not our goal. Whatever it has to offer can never meet that ultimate longing.

It makes me long for Jesus even more. Long for that day when everything will be redeemed.

"We live in the shadow of the fall
But the cross says these are all
Places where grace is soon to be so amazing
It may be unfulfilled
It may be unrestored
But when anything that's shattered is laid before the lord
Just watch and see
It will not be unredeemed"
